Environmental & Land Use Law

Environmental law concerns can arise in many ways, including the leasing of real property, the sale or purchase of land or corporate assets, the financing of businesses, the cleaning up of hazardous waste, and the necessity of obtaining permits to install or maintain underground storage tanks, discharge pollutants or alter wetlands. Environmental issues also may emerge with respect to land use planning, ad valorem taxation and construction activities. We have assisted clients in working with federal, state and local authorities and private consultants to achieve satisfactory results in the most efficient manner. We have also drafted and negotiated environmental easements and established land trusts to preserve sites of cultural, historical, and environmental significance.
