Harvey Tisinger established the practice in 1922 following his graduation from the University of Georgia School of Law. In 1932 his brother, Robert D. Tisinger, joined the firm. Shortly thereafter, Harvey Tisinger left the firm to become an assistant district attorney of the U.S. District Court where he served for more than 25 years. Robert D. Tisinger maintained the practice as a sole practitioner until 1963. He served first as solicitor, and later as judge, of the Carrollton City Court (now State Court of Carroll County). He also expanded the practice to state and national levels by serving as General Counsel for the State and National Trade Associations for Rural Electric Cooperatives. Robert D. Tisinger played an integral role in the development and expansion of the firm until his death in 1991. In 1963, David H. Tisinger joined his father’s practice in Carrollton, as did Richard G. Tisinger, Sr., in 1964. Since then the firm has continued to add attorneys in order to expand its areas of legal expertise for a growing community and widening client base. The firm has been able to attract bright, aggressive lawyers who enjoy practicing law in a small town. The firm’s offices were located in the Peoples Bank (now Bank of America) building on the Carrollton Square until 1962, when they were moved to the Tanner Street building eventually known as Lex Villa. The building was originally constructed in the 1800s and was later occupied by the Tabernacle Baptist Church. In 1987, the firm renovated a historical building located one block east of the Carrollton Square, and thus now resides at 100 Wagon Yard Plaza, so named in recognition of the historical gathering place for farmers riding mule–drawn wagons to downtown Carrollton. The firm opened offices in Columbus in 1995 and in Villa Rica in 1998 to better serve its expanding client base. |
