Two Partners named as 2008 Super Lawyers by Atlanta Magazine

Partners David Tisinger and Richard G. Tisinger, Jr were named as 2008 Super Lawyers by Atlanta Magazine. Only five percent of lawyers in the State of Georgia are named Super Lawyers based on peer recognition and professional achievement.

Tisinger Vance, P.C. recently was chosen for the second year in a row as the Best Law Firm in Carroll County by the Carrollton Times-Georgian and its readers.

John A. Harris awarded 2007 Carrollton Parks and Rec. Dept. Athletic Volunteer of the Year Award

John A. Harris has been awarded the 2007 Carrollton Parks and Rec. Dept. Athletic Volunteer of the Year Award. This honor qualified him for consideration for the Georgia Parks and Rec. Volunteer of the Year Award for the 4tt District which he also won. The 4th District encompasses 23 Rec. Dept's from 11 other counties (Heard, Troup, Harris, Coweta, Meriwether, Fulton, Fayette, Pike, Upson, Spalding and Lamar Counties) from around the state.

TTVG Partner Named To Bank Board Of Directors

Tisinger Vance, P.C. is pleased to announce that one of its partners, Stacey L. Blackmon, recently was named to the West Georgia Area Advisory Board of Directors for Colonial Bank. Ms. Blackmon's practice is focused on assisting clients in the areas of banking and finance, commercial real estate, and business and commercial law.

Vance named Carrollton Times-Georgian's Top 53

Tisinger Vance, P.C. is pleased to announce that one of its partners, J. Thomas Vance was named to the Carrollton Times-Georgian's Top 53, a list of Carroll County's foremost community leaders. The following articles appeared in the Times-Georgian:

Tommy Vance brings over three decades experience to a law practice with one of Carroll County's more prestigious firms. A 1964 Bowdon High School graduate, Vance earned a BBA accounting degree in 1968 at the University of Georgia. Three years later he completed studies for the juris doctor degree from the UGA School of Law.

Joining the law firm of Tisinger Vance as a partner that same year, Vance has been active in local and state legal circles the past 31 years. Within the first four of those years he served as a captain with the U.S. Army Reserves.

Young cancer patients know about his serving on the Board of Directors for Camp Sunshine and chairman of the Carroll County chapter of the American Cancer Society. Fellow businessmen and women have worked next to him when he was on the Board of Directors of the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce and the Board of Visitors, School of Business, State University of West Georgia as well as the Alumni Board, Terry School of Business at his Athens alma mater.

Married since 1971 to the former Karen Johnston, father of two children, the attorney doesn't neglect away-from-business affairs either, having seen service on the administrative board of Carrollton's First United Methodist Church and the Carrollton Rotary Club's board of directors. He was also chairman of the Carroll County Olympics Committee.

He was selected in 1997 as recipient of the Chamber of Commerce Volunteer of the Year award.

Tisinger, Sr., recently was reelected to the Advisory Board of the Electric Cooperative Bar Association, a national association of attorneys representing electric cooperatives.
